At the recent budget it was announced we would have a settlement of £5.2bn capital funding for the next 6 years, from April 2021 to March 2027, to better protect 336,000 properties.
This includes both homes and non-residential properties and is a change from the current 6 year programme. Non-residential properties includes shops, businesses, industrial sites, schools, hospitals, etc. and include improvements to habitat and the environment.
One of the most significant changes to this year’s refresh is the timetable. With the impacts of coronavirus, the revised Partnership Funding Rules and building a new 6 year long programme we are maximising the time for RMA’s and EA project teams to submit their bids for funding. While the timeline will still culminate in RFCC consent and EA Board approval early in 2021, the timetable leading up to that is being revised and will be shared once finalised.
