The Flood and Coastal Erosion Risk Management (FCERM) research and development programme has this week published case studies highlighting how research has been used to improve flood and coastal erosion risk management in the UK.

The case study collection covers diverse topics – from modelling with advanced technologies like digital twins, to using natural flood management measures, to applying people’s local flood knowledge and improving how we work with communities.

The collection helps to:

• support our vision that the nation is recognised as a world leader in researching and managing flooding and coastal change
• strengthen relationships with leading academic researchers
• show examples of research that supports the FCERM areas of research interest
